  1. Sunday Sessions: Davey James/Made of Dough

October 22, 2015 by Dave Seymour

    FREE ENTRY: #SundaySessions – Sunday 1 November – 12pm-7pm

For the second in our series of Sunday Sessions, we’ll once again be hosting free live music and top notch street food right in front of the brewery. This time we’ll be welcoming acclaimed blues solo artist Davey James, whose soulful tunes will provide the perfect atmosphere for a chilled-out afternoon with some beers and food. You can listen to some of Davey’s music here for a preview.

On the food front we’re really excited to have Brixton pizzaioli Made of Dough bringing their beautiful wood-fired pizzas. Italian Henry and Spaniard Ed source almost all of their ingredients from Campania and Andalusia, and in September their chorizo & piquillo pepper pizza was crowned ‘Best Pizza in the UK’ at the London Pizza Festival. We can’t wait to pair some slices with some beer.

We’ll have six of our freshest beers on tap, a soft drink on tap from Hackney’s Square Root, plus our Brewhouse Bottle Shop will be stocked with all the latest beers and some of our limited edition specials too. Join us for a cracking afternoon of beers, bites and bands and polish off the weekend with a Sunday Session.

Botifarra Sausage Burger Slider with wild rocket, honey mustard, brie cheese, sauted mushrooms, alioli and onion crisps.

    Friday 23 October – 6.30pm-10.00pm – 4 dishes and 4 half-pints for £20 per person

A lot of us here at Brew By Numbers are big fans of Catalonian cuisine. The complexity of flavours, spicing and ingredients make it one of the world’s culinary hotspots. For our fourth Dine Street event, we’re partnering with Spanish street food artists Tiberi to lay on a night of food and beer pairing with some seriously soulful, exciting flavours.

Tiberi’s ‘Barcelona Munchies’ was started by Catalonians Marc and Pau, who have captured the attention of London’s street food scene with their skilful interpretations of rustic recipes from the countryside and the sharp, fresh flavours from the coast. We’ll be pairing beers to four dishes from Tiberi on Friday 23 October, and we can’t wait to invite more people to enjoy a night of great beer and food at our taproom.

Your £20 ticket gets you all four dishes from Tiberi and four half-pints of our beer, one paired to each dish.

The menu for Friday is as follows:

    1. Seasonal prawn salad:

Garlic and parsley sauteed prawns, camargue and jasmin rice, spinach, butternut squash, pomegranate, toasted sesame and chestnut alioli dressing.

    2. Brandada and cheese roll:

Brandada (warm salted cod pate) and cheese rolled in a flat bread and sliced into rounds.

    3. Spinach and goat’s cheese croquettes:

Crispy croquettes filled with spinach and goat’s cheese, served with horseradish mayo.

    4. Botifarra sausage burger slider:

Botifarra sausage (pork belly and shoulder blend), sauteed mushrooms, wild rocket, brie cheese, honey mustard, alioli and onion crisps.

As for previous Dine Street events, tickets sell fast, so please book early to avoid disappointment!

Tickets are available from Eventbrite here.

  4. BBNo @ IndyManBeerCon 2015

October 6, 2015 by Dave Seymour

    Saturday 10 – Sunday 11 October : see IndyManBeerCon website for tickets/details

Some beer festivals are just fixtures on a calendar, others take on a life of their own and become more than just beer festivals. Now in its fourth year, IndyManBeerCon (IMBC) has quickly become an extremely accurate barometer for the state of craft beer in the UK. As the industry in the UK becomes ever more vibrant and confident, festivals that showcase the best beer have to step up their game each year.

IMBC has managed to keep pace with the industry’s momentum, and we can’t wait to return to the beautiful Victoria Baths in Manchester this weekend. This year we’ll have our own bar in Room 2 for both Saturday sessions and the Sunday session, and we’ll be serving eight of the best beers we’ve ever brewed, including some festival exclusives and brand new recipes.

Here’s our draught tap list for IMBC this year:

3 Is A Magic Number – Dry Hopped Berliner Weisse brewed with Oersoep & Rooie Dop – 5.2%

    05|12 – IPA – Five ‘C’ Hops – 6.4%

    08|04 – Stout – Irish Dry – 5.4%

    12|01 – Barrel Aged – Saison (Wai-Iti & Lemon, White Wine barrel edition) – 5.8%

    13|06 – Brett Aged – Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Porter – 11%

    14|02 – Tripel – Wai-iti – 8.5%

    16|04 – Red Ale – Coffee & Chocolate (BrewDog Collabfest 2015) – 6.5%

    25|01 – White IPA – Citra & Mosaic – 7.4%

We’ll also be hosting a tasting session on Saturday at 1.30pm in the cellars, opening five different beers from our Barrel Aged and Brett Aged series that haven’t been tasted before! If that wasn’t enough, we’ll also have a ‘pop-up’ tasting at our bar on Sunday afternoon of a very special beer you won’t find anywhere else.

We hope to see you there!
